SilomPOS FAQ for International Customers

1. Account & Subscriptions

Q: Can I use SilomPOS outside of Thailand? 

A: Yes! SilomPOS can be used globally. You can download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). However, keep in mind that certain features (like integrated QR payments via Thai banks) are Thailand-specific.

Q: I’m having trouble making a subscription payment. I’m not in Thailand.

A: We offer the following payment options for international users:  Credit Card: We can provide you with a secure credit card payment link.

Annual Subscriptions: To make international payments easier and to reward you for your commitment, we recommend an annual subscription, which also comes with a discount (usually 2 months free). Please Note: We cannot accept cash payments outside of Thailand.

Q: How do I upgrade my SilomPOS plan?

A: You can upgrade your plan by contacting our support team via this chat. We’ll discuss your needs and send you a payment link for the upgraded plan.

Q: Can I use SilomPOS offline? 

A: Yes, SilomPOS has offline capabilities! You can: Add inventory items Sell inventory Accept cash payments Important: Online features, like syncing across multiple devices, real-time stock checking, and credit card processing, are only available with an active internet connection.

2. Printers & Hardware

 

Q: Can I use a Bluetooth printer with SilomPOS? A: Yes! SilomPOS supports Bluetooth thermal printers. We recommend Epson and Star models. To activate your printer: 1. Pair your Bluetooth printer with your iPad. 2. Go to ‘Settings’ in the SilomPOS app. 3. Select ‘Advanced Settings’. 4. Turn on ‘Use Scanner’ (this applies to Bluetooth printers as well).

Q: Do I need to pay a printer activation fee if I’m outside of Thailand?

A: Yes, a one-time printer activation fee of $50 USD (or equivalent) is required for all users, regardless of location. This fee enables printing capabilities on your existing thermal receipt printer.

Q: My kitchen is far from the cashier area. Will orders get to the kitchen printer quickly?

A: For the most reliable order transmission, we strongly recommend connecting your kitchen printer via a LAN (Ethernet) cable, especially over longer distances. This helps prevent orders from getting lost due to Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

Q: My kitchen printer will be outside. What type of LAN cable do I need?

A: You will need an outdoor-rated LAN cable that can withstand weather conditions. Standard LAN cables are not suitable for outdoor use.

Q: Can SilomPOS be used with a barcode scanner?

A: Absolutely! You can pair a Bluetooth barcode scanner with your iPad.

After connecting: 1. Open the SilomPOS app. 2. Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Advanced Settings’. 3. Turn on ‘Use Scanner’.

Q: Do you offer hardware installation services internationally?

A: Currently, we provide remote assistance for installation. The SilomPOS system is designed to be user-friendly and easy to set up, and we are happy to guide you through the process over a call or chat.

Q: Is SilomPOS available in English?

A: Yes, the SilomPOS app is available in English. You may need to adjust your tablet’s language settings to English. Q: Can I change the currency in SilomPOS?

A: Yes, you can set your preferred currency in the SilomPOS app.

Q: What types of businesses is SilomPOS suitable for? 

A: SilomPOS is a versatile system perfect for various businesses, including: Restaurants (Quick Service, Cafes, Bakeries) Retail Stores Bars

Q: Does SilomPOS have a CRM system? A: Yes! SilomPOS has a CRM system to help you manage customer data and loyalty programs. This system supports points, rewards, and customer records. More advanced features like table management, staff order taking, and e-menus are supported in our Smart+ package on iOS devices.

Key Tips for International Users: We encourage you to download the FREE trial version of SilomPOS from your device’s App Store. Test it out to see if it fits your needs before making a subscription. iOS (iPad) is the recommended platform for the most comprehensive features. The Android version is a lighter version.

Consider an annual subscription for the best value and to simplify payment.
